This has been a very interesting summer of preparing BYU’s Copyright Tutorial. I have learned a lot about design, about teamwork, and about the importance of using design blueprints!
For some background, the Copyright Tutorial has been in the works since 2012 with Susie Quartey in the Copyright Office, and I merely joined the project near the ending phases of design. We developed the tutorial in Captivate and are now sending it out for user testing and feedback.
User testing and feedback is crucial. I am a big believer in this. Develop something that is the minimum, but that works– then put it out there for others to see, and continue developing. That’s the benefit of development on computers–we can build iteration after iteration with minor tweaks and changes along the way, and the delivery method is very easy.
